Jeremiah’s second confession: Jer 15:10-21: complex relationships

  1. Thanks again Tim. This intercalation of the one and the many (oo I had better look up that word!) – anyway this merging / ambiguity of the one and the many is a feature in the Psalms (e.g. compare 42-43 singular with 44 plural) and clear also in the middle chapter of Lamentations. It is so important to point it out to our individualistic social structures – yet equally important to show to a collective structure that it has a voice in each of its members – and who will be its governor / judge?

PS – have you ever considered Isaiah 64:4(5) – I am curious as to why the REB folks translated it as they did (brief post here.
