Video version here.

In this I’ll tell you how I think Jesus offers the key to how we should understand the casuistic laws of the Old Testament. It’s simple, but as I’ll go on to show in later ‘casts profound. The clue is found in a passage we’ve looked at before (Matt 5) especially in Matt 5:17-22. (See here for that ‘cast, and here for a whole sermon πŸ˜‰ .

  1. call me crazy but I did find that interesting. we tend to lump all laws into the same mold and that can cause some confusion. Well taught sir!

If you are crazy, then I must be completely nuts, because I plan a whole series!

Part one explained the difference between the two genres, this one shows how I think Jesus interpreted casuistic law, and how we can, next I need to defend that claim (so still in Mat 5), and then probably give an example (or more) so people can see how it works…

Thanks for the podcasts. They are excellent. I think that somehow part 2 is actually part 1 again. I downloaded it off iTunes and then played it directly from your site and I get the same episode.

Is there a problem on my side?

Aagh! My bad πŸ™ I'm not clear how, but the old file got uploaded with the new name, I must still be jetlagged πŸ˜‰ Still all sorted now, I hope!
